Flat rate special event fees, Whitaker Street Garage $15, all others $10.
Monthly contract parkers will be guaranteed a parking space until 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 3-17.
At the State Street and Liberty Street Garages access will only be granted for retrieving vehicles between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Wednesday. Vehicle entry to these garages will be prohibited during the same hours.

Visitor's Center Lot
The Visitors Center lot will be open for parking at 6 a.m. on Wednesday the 17th. This lot has very limited RV parking available. The parking fee is $10.

Civic Center Lot will be closed to the public Wednesday, March 17, due to staging for the parade.

On-Street Parking
Parking is prohibited in the marshaling areas and on the parade route.  Parking meters in these areas will be bagged the night before.  Areas without meters will be appropriately barricaded and signs will be posted.  Vehicles parked in the prohibited zones will be towed beginning at 6:00 a.m. on parade day.  For more information, visit the www.savannahga.gov – click on Public Safety (left side of the screen under Featured Links), then Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department.

On-street, metered parking will be free Saturday, March 13, Sunday, March 14, and Wednesday, March 17.

CATCH A RIDE

The City of Savannah has decided not to operate a shuttle this year from Oglethorpe Mall. However, the #14 Abercorn and #27 Waters CAT buses will travel on their regular routes to downtown Savannah from Oglethorpe Mall.

Savannah International Trade and Convention Center Parade Parking
Parking for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be available at the Trade and Convention Center beginning at 7 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17. A parking fee of $10 per vehicle will include a round trip on the water ferry for vehicle passengers.

PLEASE NOTE: The Trade Center Parking Lot will not admit vehicles after 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17. The water ferry will continue operations until midnight on for the convenience of Trade Center and Westin guests.

Port Wentworth Trolley Service

The Port Wentworth Chamber of Commerce will once again be offering a trolley service for visitors and locals during the St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 17th.

Trolleys will depart/arrive every 30 minutes beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m. Shuttle stops: Food Lion Shopping Plaza and participating Exit 109 hotels.

Cost: Adults 18+ $20.00, 6-17 $10.00, 5 & Under Free

CAT Shuttle Service

Chatham Area Transit (CAT) wants to share a few transit tips with you to make your traveling as trouble-free as possible on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. From 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., CAT will provide a round-trip shuttle service to the parade leaving from the:

  • Westside at the Westside Shopping Center on Hwy 80 in Garden City
  • Eastside at the Island Towne Centre on Whitemarsh Island
  • Southside at the Savannah Mall near the carousel in the rear.

Parade patrons may park their cars at these locations and ride the shuttles into downtown Savannah.
The shuttles will begin return trips from the parade in downtown Savannah from noon – 3 p.m.

  • Passengers riding the Eastside Shuttle will be dropped off and picked up downtown at Oglethorpe and Houston Streets. It will return to the Island Towne Centre.
  • Passengers riding the Westside and Southside shuttles will be dropped off and picked up at the Visitors’ Center at Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. The Westside Shuttle will return to the Westside Shopping Center and the Southside Shuttle will return to the Savannah Mall.

After the 3:00 p.m. hour, shuttle patrons can return to their cars via CAT’s fixed routes:

  • The 3A and 3B routes will return within a block of the Westside Shopping Center. It will require a short walk.
  • The 10 East Savannah and 24 Savannah State/Wilmington Island routes will return to the Island Towne Centre.
  • The 14 Abercorn will return to the Savannah Mall.

1. A $3 fare pass provides a ride to the parade and a return trip.
2. Patrons are encouraged to have correct change.
3. Passes may be purchased in advance at CAT’s main office, 900 East Gwinnett Street or CAT Central, 124 Bull Street.

RIVER ST. AND RAMP CLOSURES

Vehicular access to River Street and Ramps will be restricted at these times:

  • Friday, March 12, vehicular access prohibited starting at 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 13, vehicular access prohibited starting at noon
  • Sunday, March 14, Vehicular access prohibited starting at 2 p.m.
  • Monday, March 15: Open
  • Tuesday, March 16, Vehicular access prohibited starting at 2 p.m.
  • Wednesday, March 17, Vehicular access prohibited starting at 6 a.m.

To allow for City staff to clean the street, no trucks will be allowed on River Street prior to 7 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. It is recommended that deliveries occur prior to the street closing.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard Ramp north of Indian Street will be closed to vehicular traffic intermittently from Friday, March12 until Wednesday, March 17.

Fahm Street will serve as the truck access point to the River Street area.
